Porta dos Fundos returns to Lisbon with improvisations and Christmas premieres.

We have arrived, but we will not stay,” heralds this year’s festival edition, which brings shows, podcasts, real stories, and other festive offerings to Lisbon just before Christmas.

The program, set at the Centro Cultural de Belém and Cinema São Jorge, includes Portuguese guests on stage and also seeks volunteers from the audience for the return of “Portátil” on December 13 and 14. Fábio Porchat will debut in this format alongside Gregório Duvivier, João Vicente de Castro, and Gustavo Miranda.

The Brazilian collective’s podcast “Não Importa” makes its live debut, featuring comedians Bruno Nogueira on December 16, César Mourão on December 18, and writer Válter Hugo Mãe on December 17, offering a format “without scripts, without logic, and with much freedom,” as stated in the synopsis.

On December 16 and 17, Fábio Porchat takes the helm of humor at Cinema São Jorge with “Que História é essa, Porchat?”—a hit in Brazil—now taking the national stage. Joining Porchat are names like Joaquim Almeida, Bumba na Fofinha, Gilmário Vemba, Fafá de Belém, and Cândido Costa, presenting unforgettable evenings based on surprising real stories.

On the same dates, “Christmas Specials” hit the big screen with films like “Se Beber, não Ceie” and “A Primeira Tentação de Cristo,” showcasing the work of Porta dos Fundos, blending comedy and controversy in equal measure.

The film “Anda” will be screened on December 18 in Portugal for the first time, featuring a story inspired by the Old Testament, notably excluding Jesus as a character. This will be followed by a live conversation with Fábio Porchat and Ricardo Araújo Pereira, concluding the festival.
