The possibility of exporting cattle for slaughter and fattening from Portugal has been reopened, as stated in a note from the DGAV.
Regional Food and Veterinary Services/Autonomous Regions (DSAVR/RA) are responsible for issuing official sanitary certificates.
The document notes that the export of cattle to Algeria had stopped long ago due to health issues.
However, persistent efforts by the DGAV led to Algeria’s approval of the sanitary certificate models on July 21.
DGAV is a central service of the direct State administration with administrative autonomy.
