Get your Portugal passport + citizen card (ID)

in Portugal or on the Embassy from your country?

To receive a Portuguese passport and citizen card (Cartão de Cidadão), you must first be a Portuguese citizen. If you are not already a citizen of Portugal, you will either need to go through the process of naturalization or demonstrate that you have a qualifying relationship to the country. Some examples of qualifying connections include descent, marriage, and adoption.

Everyone who lives in Portugal is required to have a Portuguese Citizen Card, which may be used as a form of identity.
