Portugal dos Pequenitos transforms into a Christmas village in November

“This year, we will have an important new activity, which is the concept of a Christmas village, precisely in the place of traditional houses, where we have replicas of all regions of Portugal. The idea is to have a warm, Christmas-like concept where the Christmas spirit is alive,” highlighted Nuno Gonçalves.

Speaking to Lusa, the director of Portugal dos Pequenitos explained that from November 29 to January 6, 2026, the park will operate a small market where visitors can try Christmas cookies or hot chocolate.

“In this Christmas village concept, we will also have other activities, such as the laughter factory and a permanent cooking workshop, offering healthy food,” he added.

According to Nuno Gonçalves, the laughter factory will have “an educational concern,” aiming for visitors to have more than just a visit.

“We want our visitors to have an experience that is lively and rich, and to leave here with something more,” he emphasized.

At the laughter factory, the objective is to capture “the genuine laughter and smiles” of the families visiting the theme park, ultimately creating a video recording to be sent to pediatric wards in 38 Portuguese hospitals.

“The video recording will include storytelling actions meant to elicit smiles from children and laughter from families, so that, in more challenging times for other families, other children can be positively affected by these laughs,” he noted.

Nuno Gonçalves added that the kit sent to the pediatric wards, besides the video recordings, will include a speaker and will be sent in a box hand-painted by children.

“It is a pedagogical work, one of love and affection, and thus, a connection between visiting Portugal dos Pequenitos, the experience, and philanthropy. And what better time than Christmas to share our love with others who, unfortunately, are going through difficult times,” he asserted.

The Christmas village will be open for visits from November 29 to January 6, 2026, with ticket prices remaining the same.

“We estimate about 15,000 people will visit during this period,” he concluded.
