Portugal is the guest country at the Opole Book Festival in Poland.

For the first time, Portugal has been invited to participate in one of Poland’s most significant cultural events, which in its last edition attracted around 50,000 visitors, as announced by the Portuguese Association of Publishers and Booksellers (APEL).

The Association Cavaleiros de Gutenberg, dedicated to promoting and valuing the printed word in Portuguese-speaking countries, is organizing a national delegation aimed at enhancing the visibility of Portuguese cultural and business production.

One of the missions will be to promote Portuguese fine arts through exhibitions, gastronomic tasting events, and concerts.

Efforts will be made to engage Portuguese publishers and authors interested in entering or expanding within the Polish market, particularly those with works already translated or in the process of being translated. The presence of Portuguese authors, including book signings and public interactions, is also planned.

This event will also serve as an opportunity to reach out to Portuguese companies with interests in Poland, encouraging the presence of national brands at the event and promoting networking and business visibility, the APEL adds.
