Portugal needs efficient public administration and strictness in accounts

In a pre-campaign event for local elections, Luís Montenegro identified issues in the country that need resolution for development.

“Portugal is a country that needs motivation… good decisions, it needs rigor, needs to use public money well, needs to bring efficiency to public administration, needs good employees in public administration so that we can recruit and retain them, and therefore, it needs to value their careers as we are doing and also value their incomes,” stated the social democrat, calling for the support of municipalities.

In Lourinhã, the social democrat leader inaugurated the campaign headquarters of the PSD/CDS-PP coalition, located centrally in the council’s seat. He described it as “innovative” for being set up in containers, referring to it as the “construction site” that he hopes the coalition will establish in the local elections scheduled for October 12.

With music and refreshments, the PSD president and the mayoral candidate, Orlando Carvalho, ended up taking photos with party members and supporters.

Earlier, Luís Montenegro participated in a street campaign action for the Unidos Por Torres Vedras (PSD/CDS-PP/Volt) coalition led by Sérgio Galvão.

Joined by other candidates and supporters, they drank the typical ‘cup,’ ate a bean pastry at a nearby factory, and stopped for a coffee in one of the city’s central cafes.

The social democrat leader expressed his “strength and confidence” in the two mayoral candidates, believing in change in these Lisbon district municipalities where the PS has always won local elections.
