According to Marca newspaper, the German equipment manufacturer will replace Nike, which has carried the national team since 1997.
Portugal’s national team is set to leave Nike and start wearing PUMA uniforms for the 2025 season.
The parties have already agreed that the German brand will replace the Swoosh on the Seleção das Quinas jersey from January 2025, when the current agreement comes to an end.
If the deal with PUMA does go through, Portugal will replace Italy in the brand’s list of main national teams, which since the departure of the Italians has been emptied, and the supplier is looking for new gems for its shelf.
Currently, the feline brand is worn by national teams such as Uruguay, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Egypt, among others.
