Portugal: Team beat Vietnam 2-0 in women’s world cup

The Portuguese women’s national team got their first win at a World Cup today, beating Vietnam 2-0, keeping them in the fight for qualification for the round of 16.

In Hamilton, New Zealand, in the second round of Group E, Telma Encarnação scored Portugal’s first goal in a World Cup in the seventh minute, and Kika Nazareth scored the second in the 21st minute.

With this victory, Portugal has three points, one less than the world champions United States, who face the Portuguese team in the last round, and the Netherlands, runners-up, while Vietnam, without points, is eliminated.
