The men’s national team won yesterday the Golden Cat, a preparation tournament for the Europe-2023 European Championship, beating the Italian team, 4-2, in the final held in Voltregá, Spain.

With three goals from Gonçalo Alves, in the 4th, 19th and 31st minutes, and with João Rodrigues closing the scoring, Portugal got rid of the defeat that Italy – this Sunday with Giulio Cocco scoring both goals – imposed in the third round of the quadrangular tournament.

Remember that Portugal entered the competition with a victory over the national team of Catalonia (9-3), before, last Saturday, beating France (4-2), qualifying immediately for the final, despite the defeat that would happen later with Italy by the same 4-2.
