
On June 5, at 8 PM local time, B Fachada, the stage name of Bernardo Fachada, aged 41, and described by organizers as “one of the most important figures in the Portuguese musical scene of the 21st century,” is set to perform for an hour at the Les Abbesses theater under the theme ‘The European Stage Facing Present Challenges’.
“An author, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, he has composed over 10 albums since 2007 that explore themes ranging from tradition to experimental pop. His performances are a constant mix of humor and poetry, acoustic and electro,” the organization states.
The Teatro do Vestido will present the play ‘Intimacies With The Earth’ from June 23 to 24 at 8 PM at the Sarah Bernhardt theater.
“A show about the earth, its species, the beginnings of anthropology, and the methodology of this science,” it explores the colonizing mindset manifested in encounters with others, according to Théâtre de la Ville.
In this production, Joana Craveiro, aged 51, “returns to the deep solo format, delving into the core topics she aims to address, offering the audience a journey, a pact of mutual discovery and exploration. The piece opens with a prologue performed by Estêvão Antunes and Tânia Guerreiro,” it adds.
Renowned for her frequent appearances at Théâtre de la Ville, dancer Tânia Carvalho will present ‘As I Could Stay There for Ever’ on June 28 and 29 at 5 PM at the Sarah Bernhardt theater. She will share the evening with Spanish dancer Pol Jiménez.
“Between undulation and segmentation, this solo immerses the audience in an almost hypnotic state,” through the dance of Tânia Carvalho, aged 41, who in 2021 was invited to create the piece “One Of Four Periods In Time (Ellipsis)” with dancers from the Ballet National de Marseille, the organization affirms.
The 24-25 season of the Chantiers d’Europe festival will also feature performances by artists from Belgium, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, and Ireland, in a year celebrating the initiative’s 15th anniversary, aiming to offer a broader perspective of Europe.
Between May 6 and 18, the event will take place in Florence, Italy, in a collaboration between Teatro della Pergola and Théâtre de la Ville that resulted in the creation of the piece ‘Pessoa – Since I’ve been me’, by Robert Wilson, performed in English, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
