Portuguese qualifier Jaime Faria was eliminated today in the first round of the Estoril Open, losing to Spanish lucky loser David Jordà Sanchis in two sets at the Estoril Tennis Club.
On the Cascais court, the 20-year-old Portuguese was beaten by the 329th-ranked player, who was brought back at the last minute to replace Frenchman Constant Lestienne, 7-6 (7-4) and 6-1, in one hour and 46 minutes.
This was the first time that Jaime Faria, ranked 262nd in the world, had played in the main draw of an ATP tournament.
