The highest growth in demand was seen in travel packages priced between 600 and 1,200 euros, as reported in a study released by the association today.
Among the most popular destinations for summer 2025, Cape Verde tops the preferences of Portuguese travelers, followed by the Dominican Republic and the Spanish islands. Compared to last summer, the main change was the reversal between the second and third most sought-after destinations.
Quality-price ratio remains the most decisive criterion when choosing a trip (92.2% of responses), far ahead of the second factor, the time spent on round-trip travel, which garnered 25.5%.
According to ANAV President Miguel Quintas, the sector has significantly contributed to these trends: “The work developed by travel agencies has resulted in a much more competitive offer in destinations such as the Caribbean or Africa compared to Portugal. Contrary to conventional belief, domestic market prices are not the sole explanation for the trends observed in recent years.”
The Summer 2025 Barometer is based on responses from 51 travel agencies to a questionnaire with six questions, aiming to identify consumer trends, motivations, and priorities.
