There are 1,134 Portuguese citizens registered in Qatar, according to a source from the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a message released today on social media, the Portuguese embassy in Doha urged Portuguese residents in the Qatari capital to avoid all travel following Israel’s attack on leaders of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.
“The Embassy informs that in light of the explosions heard a few moments ago in Doha, we advise all Portuguese to avoid any travel and to remain at home,” the embassy wrote.
The Israeli Army claimed responsibility for today’s attack on senior leaders of the Islamist group Hamas in the Qatari capital, which has already been condemned by authorities in Doha.
