Portuguese stock market continues to gain 0.21% with Mota-Engil rising close to 3%

About an hour after opening, out of the 15 titles making up the main index of the Portuguese stock exchange, the PSI, 11 were in positive territory while four were declining – Ibersol (-0.20% to 9.74 euros), REN (-0.17% to 2.97 euros), BCP (-0.16% to 0.74 euros), and EDP (-0.16% to 3.86 euros).

Mota-Engil led the gains, appreciating 2.98% to 4.90 euros, after closing with a loss of 1.73% on Wednesday.

The construction company’s profits rose 20% in the first half to 59 million euros year-on-year, with the turnover reaching 2.745 million euros, an increase of 0.5% from the previous year.

Jornal de Negócios reports that the construction company is interested in ports.

Galp Energia followed with a gain of 0.85% to 16.56 euros, followed by Altri (+0.80% to 5.07 euros), Navigator (+0.72% to 3.35 euros), and Semapa (+0.56% to 17.96 euros).

Also in positive territory were Corticeira Amorim (+0.39% to 7.64 euros), NOS (+0.38% to 3.93 euros), and Sonae (+0.31% to 1.30 euros).

The remaining titles recorded smaller gains.

The Lisbon stock exchange closed the previous day with slight losses, with the PSI falling by 0.36% to 7,816.16 points.

The main Portuguese markets were mostly in positive territory around the same time, except for London, which was down 0.06%.
