At around 16:24, the power supply had been restored to most of the 21,000 consumers who lost electricity in Alto Minho at 12:19, with 1,800 still affected.
A company representative stated that the 1,800 consumers without electricity were from the municipalities of Valença, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Caminha, Castro Laboreiro in Melgaço, and Arcos de Valdevez, with no estimated time for restoration.
The power outage also impacted areas in the municipality of Ponte de Lima.
The outage occurred at 12:19 at the hydroelectric plant in the area of France, Sopo parish, Vila Nova de Cerveira, and the causes remain unknown.
