
“The GPIAAF is expected to publish a preliminary report within 45 days, detailing the progress of the investigation and the conclusions available at that time,” stated the head of the office during a joint press conference with the Judiciary Police, the executive board of the SNS, and the Institute of Legal Medicine.
Nelson Oliveira further affirmed that the office investigating the accident, which resulted in 16 fatalities and 23 injuries, plans to release an informative note late on Friday, highlighting the initial confirmed findings.
“At this moment, we will not share any facts. These will be provided in the informative note, as the gathered information and facts require context and the perspective we will bring to the investigation, based on what we have identified so far,” the GPIAAF representative told journalists.
The government declared a day of national mourning, which is observed today.
