In a statement, Cometlis explained that the arrest took place last Saturday after the suspect exhibited “an incoherent speech” regarding her stay in the Schengen Area during a border control operation.
“Faced with the evidence, the suspect was directed to a secondary control line where a more detailed procedure was conducted on the conditions of her entry into the European space,” explained the PSP.
According to the police, during this procedure, “it was possible to understand that the woman was carrying several packages wrapped in kinesiology tape against her body, containing a suspicious substance.”
The woman later admitted “it was a narcotic,” the statement noted.
After revealing to the authorities that she was also carrying drugs inside her body, the woman was taken to a hospital, where she received medical assistance to expel the remaining substance.
In total, authorities found approximately 1.1 kg of cocaine in the suspect’s possession.
Presented to the court, the woman was subjected to the coercive measure of preventive detention, the most severe.
