The young man, following his initial judicial interrogation on Friday, was placed under preventive detention, as announced in a statement from the Prosecutor’s Office of the Lisbon West District.
The investigating judge, however, requested the General Directorate of Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP) to prepare a report to evaluate the potential replacement of preventive detention with house arrest, monitored electronically, considering the defendant’s age.
The statement detailed that the young man, in collaboration with another minor aged 15, used physical and verbal violence to force their victims to surrender their belongings, including mobile phones.
The robbery attempt the following day was thwarted by two officers from the PSP Criminal Investigation Brigade.
The investigation is ongoing under the jurisdiction of the Sintra Investigation and Prosecution Department.
