The arrest occurred at 09:30 on Friday, following the execution of a detention warrant.
In a statement, the PSP noted that the 43-year-old suspect was reported in December 2024 for assaulting his wife “with several slaps and punches to the head, eyes, and stomach, and for grabbing the victim by the hair until she fell to the ground.”
The press release continued, stating that the PSP investigation revealed that the violent episodes were “recurring and that, in April 2024, the suspect inflicted two slaps to the victim’s right eye, necessitating an ophthalmology consultation and resulting in partial vision loss.”
Following a judicial interrogation, the suspect was remanded in custody as a preventive measure, according to the PSP.
