The Faro Territorial Command of the National Republican Guard (GNR) reported the arrest during a patrol operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of Loulé, in the Faro district.
The security force stated that the suspect, already known for drug trafficking, attempted to ingest several packages of cocaine to conceal them and was subsequently transported to Faro Hospital.
During a search of the detainee’s residence, officers seized 248 doses of cocaine, 12 of hashish, seven of heroin, 8.81 grams of an unidentified substance, a mobile phone, and a precision scale.
The suspect was presented for an initial judicial hearing and was placed in preventive detention, the most severe coercive measure.
