The alleged attacker, who was arrested on Tuesday and appeared for an initial judicial hearing on Wednesday, has been prohibited from contacting his parents by any means, according to the police statement.
During the domestic violence investigation, the GNR found that the man physically and psychologically abused his parents through threats, insults, and intimidating behavior, creating a climate of fear and submission for the victims.
The GNR stated that, through death threats, the suspect demanded money from his parents, leading them to flee their home to escape further aggression and threats.
The detainee has a criminal background for similar offenses, it was noted.
“The GNR reaffirms its commitment to combating domestic violence, emphasizing that such crimes constitute a severe violation of human rights and calls on all victims and citizens to report similar situations via emergency number 112 or directly at local police stations,” it stated.
Domestic violence is a public crime, and reporting is a collective responsibility, it stressed.
