A man was arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) on Sunday, November 30th, in Lisbon, on suspicion of committing the crime of serious bodily harm.

In a statement, the PSP reported being called to address “a situation of bodily harm reported by witnesses, aimed at preventing not only further physical harm to the victims but also a potential escalation to a more serious crime, possibly against life, stemming from disagreements between residents of the same housing facility.”

At the scene, “the police ensured a swift and coordinated intervention,” thus “ending the violent acts committed by the suspect using two bladed weapons and gathering evidence that confirmed the crime.”

Considering “the evidence present at the scene,” including “the injuries already inflicted, the means utilized, and the blood traces compatible with aggression, among others,” the suspect was arrested and then taken for an initial judicial interrogation.

The most severe coercive measure, preventive detention, was applied to him.
