A 28-year-old man was arrested and placed under preventive detention on Tuesday for the crime of robbery in Palmela.
In a statement released on Thursday, the National Republican Guard (GNR) reported that the arrest followed an alert regarding a robbery involving a knife in the Poceirão area.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the suspect, armed with a knife, threatened the victim to steal their mobile phone.
Police investigations led to the suspect being located and apprehended nearby. The man was arrested, and the knife used in the crime was seized by the GNR.
After appearing before the Judicial Court of Setúbal on Wednesday for an initial hearing, the suspect was placed under preventive detention.
