A Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) reported that three suspects, two men and one woman aged between 34 and 57, appeared in court in Elvas, Portalegre district, for their initial judicial hearings on Wednesday and today.
The court ordered pre-trial detention for the 57-year-old man, the harshest preventive measure, who has been taken to Elvas Prison to await further proceedings.
The other two suspects are required to report to local law enforcement twice weekly.
On Tuesday, the Portalegre District Command of the PSP announced the arrest of the three suspects through a Facebook post.
The suspects were apprehended by the Criminal Investigation Squad of the Elvas Police Division as part of an investigation following several procedural actions.
During the operation, authorities seized 180.38 doses of hashish, 26.14 doses of marijuana, five cannabis seeds, €6,767 in cash, a vehicle, a butterfly knife, two precision scales, three mobile phones, and other drug trafficking-related items.
