The suspect was detained on Tuesday and appeared in court this afternoon.
The crime occurred at a private social solidarity institution, where both the detainee and the 53-year-old victim are institutionalized, according to the Central Directorate of the Judiciary Police (PJ), which carried out the arrest.
“Taking advantage of the victim’s special vulnerability, who suffers from a profound mental illness, the aggressor subjected her to abusive sexual practices,” stated the source.
The investigation began earlier this month following a report from the institution, which led to the opening of an inquiry and subsequent evidence-gathering actions, culminating in the suspect’s arrest.
