The GNR has clarified in a statement that a 55-year-old suspect was brought before the Judicial Court of Santa Maria da Feira and was subjected to the most severe coercive measure.
Authorities detained the man on Thursday following a report concerning stalking and threat incidents.
“In response to a report on a stalking and threat situation, the Guard’s officers promptly arrived on-site, conducting police procedures that revealed the suspect engaged in psychological and verbal abuse against the victim, who is his 59-year-old ex-partner,” the statement notes.
Besides the psychological abuse, the GNR notes that the detained individual would track the victim’s daily routine, consistently issuing threats and insults.
Following the action, an arrest warrant and a search and seizure warrant for the suspect’s vehicle were executed, leading to the arrest of the aggressor and the seizure of a prohibited weapon.
