Seven individuals, aged between 24 and 48, were detained by the PSP, with two having prior criminal records for drug trafficking.
The detainees appeared for their initial judicial interrogation on Thursday, resulting in two suspects being remanded in custody at the Leiria Prison Facility.
The others were subjected to periodic police station check-ins and prohibited from contacting each other and the various witnesses involved in the case.
The PSP’s Criminal Investigation Squad in Leiria conducted an operation on Monday following an investigation that began earlier this year.
The police action, aimed at combating drug trafficking, involved six residential and nine non-residential searches, leading to the arrest of four men and three women who were exclusively engaged in selling narcotics from their homes in Leiria, with no known professional activity.
During the operation, 40.01 grams of cocaine (crack), equating to 109 doses, 8.12 grams of hashish, and 8,690.40 euros in cash were seized.
The PSP also confiscated two shotguns stolen from residences, as well as cartridges, four knives, five vehicles, and several mobile phones.
