Primark is set to open a new store this Friday at the Espaço Guimarães Shopping Centre, marking an investment exceeding seven million euros, the company announced. Later this year, another location will be launched at Palácio do Gelo in Viseu.
The new Primark in Guimarães has created “over 100 new jobs for the local economy,” according to a company statement obtained by Notícias ao Minuto.
This store is the “2nd of four new stores announced last year, part of a 40 million euro investment.”
“Following the openings in Montijo and Guimarães and the expansion of the Colombo store in Lisbon, Primark will open its next store at Palácio do Gelo Shopping Centre in Viseu later this year. Next year, another store is set to open in Covilhã,” the statement reads.
The company explained that with these openings, “Primark will have 14 stores in Portugal, increasing its total retail space by more than 30% and creating over 500 new jobs across the country.”
“As the 12th store of the retailer in Portugal, Primark Guimarães now joins other nearby locations of the brand, including Primark Braga, Primark Norteshopping, and Primark Parque Nascente in Porto,” the statement adds.
