The President of the Prison Guard Corps Union, Frederico Morais, dismissed concerns that the Black Market operation conducted in several prisons today undermines the sector.
“On the contrary, we welcome this operation. The Prison Guard should be comprised of honest and integral individuals. Any prison guard worth their salt does not condone corruption in their service,” he stated, emphasizing that the union supports action when serious suspicions arise.
“Operations should be conducted when there is justification, and today seems to be such a case. Rotten apples cannot remain in our service,” he asserted.
