GNR professionals working with 112.pt have not received their due supplement since March, as reported by the Association of the Guard Professionals (APG/GNR).
“Allegedly, the GNR has not paid these amounts without providing any justification to the professionals, and we believe there is no reason for this situation, especially since, as far as we know, PSP professionals in the same circumstances received their due amounts on time,” the association stated in a communiqué.
At issue, according to the same source, is a gratuity that arises “from the high levels of demand and strain on the operators” at the 112.pt Operational Centers.
“The APG/GNR does not accept that this gratuity is not paid in a timely manner, especially since the amounts should be paid monthly, by the last day of the month to which they relate, as per the protocol with the ministries of Health, Internal Administration, INEM, PSP, and GNR,” the document reads.
According to the association, delays in payments “are nothing new.”
The monthly amount in question is 144.80 euros, which the APG considers “completely outdated,” as it has not been revised for 15 years, making the functions performed at 112.pt “increasingly less attractive” for GNR professionals.
“In the last three admission contests for 112 operators, only one GNR professional applied,” the association emphasized.
The APG/GNR demands a review of the protocol and an update of the values and insists that the overdue amounts be processed and paid, expecting that the situation does not recur.
“This situation is recurrent. There were others last year,” APG President César Nogueira told the Lusa agency, referring to a letter sent in November to the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, and the Minister of Internal Administration, Margarida Blasco, with a copy to the President of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and the General Command of the GNR.
