
With regard to the Government’s program, the PCP has announced its intention to present a motion of rejection. However, this initiative by the communists is set to fail, as, besides the PSD and CDS, it will not receive support from Chega or the PS.
The second government led by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro will consist of 16 ministries, one less than the previous government, retaining thirteen of the 17 ministers from the outgoing administration.
The ministers of the 25th Constitutional Government will be sworn in today at 18:00, just 18 days after the elections. This marks the fastest government formation process during President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s presidential terms.
