“The only entity that determines whether the milestones and targets are met or not is the European Commission,” stated the president of the Task Force Recover Portugal, Fernando Alfaiate, after the second round of interventions by MPs.
According to the latest monitoring report, of the 438 milestones and targets of the PRR, 145 have been validated by the European Commission and 59 are under evaluation.

In recent months, some entities have expressed concern about the execution and timeline of the PRR, which ends in August 2026, such as the National Monitoring Commission or the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The PRR, which has an execution period until 2026, aims to implement a set of reforms and investments with a view to recovering economic growth.
In addition to addressing the damage caused by COVID-19, this plan aims to support investments and create jobs.
The Task Force Recover Portugal was established to negotiate and monitor the execution of the PRR.
