As of Wednesday, the PRR has received 380,133 applications, with 310,954 being evaluated.

The approved applications stand at 239,826, an increase of 46.

The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, was summoned to parliament to provide an update on the PRR and explain execution delays.

This was due to requests from the parliamentary groups of Chega and the PS, which were approved on Wednesday in the Committee on Economy and Territorial Cohesion, as stated by Pedro Coimbra (PS), who presides over the committee.

In addition to Castro Almeida, the requirements call for the participation of Fernando Alfaiate, president of the “Estrutura de Missão Recuperar Portugal,” and Pedro Dominguinhos, president of the PRR National Monitoring Commission.

Alongside the PRR, the Portugal 2030 program, currently in its initial execution phase, is also expected to be discussed.

The PRR, which has an execution period until 2026, aims to implement a series of reforms and investments to recover economic growth.

Besides repairing damages caused by COVID-19, the plan is intended to support investments and generate employment.
