PRR: These are the biggest beneficiaries (already with more than 500 million)

Infrastructure Portugal (IP) has allocated a total of 279,175,975 euros to initiatives such as road accessibility, cross-border connections, the digitization of rail transport, and network capacity enhancement, according to a list released by Brussels.

Next is the Portuguese Development Bank, with 264,137,500 euros dedicated to business capitalization and financial resilience, as well as the recapitalization of the Azores’ business system.

In third place is the Secretariat-General for Education and Science, with 228,166,103 euros earmarked for initiatives such as cultural networks, digital transition, and public administration capability.

The Housing and Urban Rehabilitation Institute (IHRU) with 168,489,290 euros and the Ministry of National Defense–Navy with 146,987,699 euros complete the top five.

Other notable beneficiaries include Metro do Porto, with 115,565,104 euros aimed at network expansion, and the Municipality of Lisbon, with 110,599,761 euros for measures like housing access support programs and affordable student housing.

Entities receiving between 50 and 100 million euros include Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (94,149,589 euros), the Institute of Informatics (89,710,861 euros), the Institute of Financial Management for Education (80,731,045 euros), Lisbon Metro (75,315,781 euros), the Agency for Administrative Modernization (66,470,337 euros), the Center for Engineering and Development (64,795,743 euros), and the Air Force General Staff (63,437,877 euros).

This group also includes the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Regional Health Administration (59,805,324 euros), the Institute for Financial Management and Justice Equipment (53,486,541 euros), and the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) with 50,267,820 euros.

At the lower end of the table are CAIMA (11,229,734 euros), Bondalti Chemicals (11,258,130 euros), the Municipality of Barreiro (11,259,571 euros), 3Xp Global (11,278,476 euros), and the Cabeço da Bola Subfund (11,656,504 euros).

The Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) disbursed 9,211 million euros to its beneficiaries by October, representing 41% of the total allocation, as per the monitoring report released last week.

The PRR, which has an execution period until 2026, aims to implement a set of reforms and investments focused on economic growth recovery.

In addition to repairing damage caused by Covid-19, the plan aims to support investments and create jobs.
