The Socialist Party announced plans to summon Minister Pinto Luz to parliament to clarify his ability to oversee the privatization process of TAP and to question the Prime Minister on whether this government member remains fit to continue in his role.
These political initiatives were disclosed to the news agency by the PS Parliamentary Leader, Eurico Brilhante Dias, following the conclusion of the period for expressing interest by aviation groups potentially vying to participate in TAP’s privatization.
“I don’t see what’s new, honestly, nor do I know how many times Minister Pinto Luz has already addressed parliament on this matter. If there’s another opportunity, he’ll do it again. I believe the Socialist Party has made such declarations for 10 years, and since Engineer Pinto Luz has been the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, he has been queried on numerous occasions, including just a few weeks ago in parliament, about this dossier,” responded the Prime Minister during a visit to Angola, ahead of the European Union-African Union Summit in Luanda.
“The Socialist Party is evidently nostalgic for Engineer Pinto Luz, seeking to hear from him once more. Engineer Pinto Luz will indeed attend parliament, gladly providing all the necessary clarifications on the TAP privatization process,” added Luís Montenegro.
