The presentation of the electoral program comes after the PS held nine sectorial meetings over five days, during which Pedro Nuno Santos invited socialists, former government officials, independents, and civil society members to contribute to the revision of the electoral program for the upcoming elections.
The PS leader argued that with an electoral program for the 2024 elections “built on very solid foundations” by “a highly qualified group of people,” it required a “serious update” due to the changes the world has undergone.
Topics such as housing, the national health system, employment, wages, social security, economy, international relations, defense, territory, environment, climate, democracy, transparency, justice, and internal security were among those where over 200 individuals, according to PS estimates, provided input.
Besides sessions at Largo do Rato led by Pedro Nuno Santos, the PS also held nine regional meetings to gather ideas and set up an email for contributions from anyone wishing to send their inputs.
