Ten members of the PS parliamentary group, including Hugo Fazenda, a deputy elected for the Castelo Branco Circle, have expressed “deep concern over the confirmation of new delays in salary payments to workers at the Social Security Contact Center.” This center, located in Castelo Branco, is operated by Reditus.
Citing a statement from the Democratic Union of Postal, Telecommunications, Media, and Services Workers (SINDETELCO), which informed that September salaries have not been fully paid and only 33% of the amount due has been received, the deputies questioned the Government if it confirms “the existence of unpaid salaries for September 2025 by Reditus to the Social Security Contact Center workers in Castelo Branco.”
“What urgent measures have been adopted to ensure the full payment of the outstanding salaries,” they inquired.
A similar incident involving Reditus, contracted by the state, occurred in August 2024.
In light of this, the socialist parliamentarians are also seeking to know if the Government believes this recurring default “justifies imposing sanctions or prohibiting Reditus from participating in future public tenders.”
“What contractual oversight mechanisms are currently in place to ensure the timely fulfillment of labor obligations by private entities providing public services,” they asked.
The PS deputies are also demanding to know what measures the Government plans to implement “to prevent the recurrence of such situations, ensuring job stability and respect for workers’ rights.”
