The Social Democratic Party (PSD) of Madeira once again emerged victorious in the regional elections, securing 43.43% of the votes. The party significantly increased its share from the previous election, gaining nearly 13,000 additional votes compared to last time. Across the archipelago, the Social Democrats won in 10 out of the 11 municipalities, five of which were achieved with an absolute majority.
The municipality of Santa Cruz was the only exception, where the People’s Party (JPP), another major victor of the night having surpassed the Socialist Party (PS), claimed victory with 36.72% of the vote.
According to provisional results from the Secretariat-General of the Ministry of Internal Administration – Electoral Administration, all 54 parishes and 11 municipalities have been tallied, and the 47 mandates have been distributed.
