PSI rises 0.49% in counter-cycle with Europe

The Lisbon stock exchange closed higher today, against the main European markets, with the PSI index advancing 0.49% to 6,016.69 points.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the Lisbon stock exchange’s benchmark index, seven were up, eight were down and one ended unchanged.

Galp (1.87% to €10.92) and BCP (1.78% to €0.23) rose the most.

In the declines, EDP led and fell 0.83% to €4.30.

Europe’s main stock markets closed lower following the publication of figures showing weaker-than-expected growth in China.

Paris fell 1.12%, London 0.38%, Frankfurt 0.23% and Milan 0.19%. On the Madrid stock exchange, the IBEX 35 index ended the session unchanged.
