The PSP yesterday arrested nine people and seized more than eight kilograms of drugs in an anti-trafficking operation that took place in the Pinheiro Torres and Pasteleira Velha districts of Porto, a police source told Lusa.
The detainees are five men and four women and the drugs seized include heroin, cocaine and hashish, said the source, who admitted that there were other drugs among the seized material.
As a result of the 17 searches, PSP officers also found more than €40,000 in cash, as well as equipment normally associated with drug trafficking, he continued.
The source also indicated that several vehicles had been seized.
The detainees will be heard on Thursday by the Porto Criminal Investigation Court.
