Today, in a statement, the PSP noted that operations took place at 276 educational institutions, involving 2,154 police officers and 13,352 participants from the school community, with 502 individual criminal prevention contacts made.
In areas directed towards younger individuals, 517 awareness actions were conducted as part of the ‘Eu faço como diz o Falco’ project, in 301 educational facilities, involving 453 police officers and 15,253 participants from the school community, with 518 individual criminal prevention contacts also carried out.
Throughout the school year, the PSP says it executed various awareness initiatives, addressing issues affecting youth, such as bullying, cyberbullying, addictive behaviors, and the use of new technologies.
Topics such as road safety, children’s rights, and respect for differences were also covered, aiming to prevent various forms of discrimination, promoting human rights respect, and raising awareness about self-protection measures and enhancing child safety.
The operation aimed to conduct awareness actions and individual criminal prevention contacts with students in the third cycle of basic education and secondary education on violent behaviors, possession/use of weapons (particularly knives), and drug use.
The PSP also held activities with preschool and primary school students under the theme ‘FALCO – Safer Holidays’, introducing the Program Estou Aqui! Crianças and stories such as ‘A Pulseira das Conchas’, ‘A Ana no Labirinto das Compras’, and ‘Um Presente Doce’ from the ‘Eu faço como diz o Falco’ project, reminding children of safety during holidays (when lost or approached by strangers).
In the note, the PSP stated it reinforced its presence around educational institutions and the home-school routes during the past school year, ensuring the security of all and enabling school activities to proceed smoothly.
