The Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) conducted an operation on Thursday morning to combat illegal housing in Loures, targeting two buildings belonging to the Evangelical Church Assembly of God in São João da Talha.

Approximately 60 people were residing in the area, including children and infants as young as two months old.

While most residents were immigrants, there were also Portuguese individuals. One resident revealed that rent prices ranged from 270 to 370 euros.

The conditions of the space were notably poor, with around 60 rooms sharing only two bathrooms and two kitchens. Some individuals had been living there for approximately two years.

As of now, the PSP has not provided a detailed report on the operation, though all residents have been identified. It remains unclear who was renting out the rooms, but it is not believed to be the owner of the buildings.
