In a statement, the PSP (Public Security Police) said that the São João da Madeira Police Station, under the Aveiro District Command, initiated investigations following reports of illegal racing taking place in the park located in the industrial zone of Travessas.

The PSP revealed that they issued administrative offense notices for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, excessive speed, and lack of civil liability insurance. The latter is considered a serious infraction that implies the seizure of the vehicle.

The police emphasized that “these facts constitute the practice of a dangerous driving crime,” which was reported to the justice system.

The PSP promised to “continue to be attentive to this type of illegal practices, which constitute a serious disregard for traffic rules and endanger the life or physical integrity of participants and spectators.”

The police added that they “will continue to carry out enforcement actions, as well as other measures deemed necessary, in order to neutralize these behaviors.”
