The Public Security Police (PSP) has announced the opening of a recruitment process for the admission to the Police Training Course (CFA), with applications accepted until 11:59 PM on December 23.
Candidates must apply through the PSP’s recruitment portal: https://recrutamento.psp.pt/.
The recruitment process incorporates new admission criteria, such as raising the maximum age from 30 to 35 years and setting the minimum height for men at 1.60 meters.
Additional admission requirements include holding Portuguese nationality, being at least 18 years old, possessing the physical fitness and psychological profile necessary for police duties, being enrolled in or having completed the 12th grade or equivalent, having no criminal penalties preventing them from working in the police force, demonstrating moral integrity and civic behavior aligned with the police profession’s ethical standards, and not being classified as a conscientious objector.
The PSP also highlights “certain benefits and advantages” of a police career, including “competitive remuneration.” In the first year, an agent receives a gross salary of 1,930.70 euros, which includes base salary, fixed and variable allowances (such as service and risk supplements for security forces, shift, and patrol), and a meal subsidy, increasing to 1,998.09 euros in the second year.
