Six individuals have been arrested by the PSP of Coimbra between Tuesday and Wednesday for crimes including drug trafficking, forgery, theft, and driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol.
In a statement, the Public Security Police detailed that the detained include five men and one woman.
A 63-year-old man was arrested in Figueira da Foz at 1:00 PM on Tuesday on suspicion of forgery. He failed to pay for fuel at a Tavarede station, prompting PSP intervention.
Upon arrival, “the police discovered that the license plate on the suspect’s motorcycle was from another vehicle, leading to his arrest. The PSP also seized the motorcycle and the license plate.”
Shortly after, also in Figueira da Foz, a 55-year-old man was arrested at the Railway Station on suspicion of drug trafficking. He was found in possession of 65 doses of cocaine, which were confiscated.
“The arrest was made at 1:15 PM by officers from the Criminal Investigation Squad of the Figueira da Foz Police Division after surveillance at the site,” the PSP reported in the same statement.
Also on November 25, Tuesday, in the city of Coimbra, a 59-year-old woman was arrested for theft at a commercial establishment in the Santa Clara area. She had left the store “without paying for several clothing items worth 137.5 euros” in her possession. Additionally, she removed security devices and tags from the items, preventing them from being resold. The arrest occurred at 4:15 PM.
Regarding arrests related to road offenses, PSP arrested a 24-year-old man in the early hours of Wednesday for driving intoxicated at Praça da República, Coimbra. The detained was subjected to a breathalyzer test, showing a blood alcohol level of 1.69 grams per liter.
Two other men were arrested for driving without a license on Tuesday. The first was detained at 8:30 AM in the S. Julião parish, Figueira da Foz: a 56-year-old caught without a driver’s license following a traffic accident, which resulted only in material damage.
The second, a 28-year-old man, was detained in Santa Clara, Coimbra, at 12:00 PM for driving a moped without legal authorization.
