A police operation involving the Criminal Investigation and Police Intervention and Supervision Squads took place on Tuesday in Baixa de Coimbra and the Ingote neighborhood on the outskirts of the city, with the cooperation of the Foreigners and Border Control Unit and the Traffic Squad.
In addition to the arrest of a drug trafficking suspect and the identification of 21 men and six women, “three reports were also drawn up against foreign citizens in an irregular situation in our country,” the PSP noted in a statement sent to the Lusa news agency.
One report concerns leaving the national territory, another pertains to staying beyond the authorized period, and a third involves failing to renew a residence permit within the 30 days preceding its expiration, the PSP indicated.
During the same operation, five commercial establishments were also inspected, leading to the detection of “various infractions related to the lack of security and hygiene equipment.”
