The proposals were made as part of border control operations, overseen by the National Unit for Foreigners and Borders (UNEF), and through the Airport Security and Border Control Division (DSACF), at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon, according to a PSP statement.
The proposals to cancel residence permits are forwarded to AIMA – Agency for Integration, Migrations and Asylum, which holds the administrative decision-making responsibility.
Among the most frequent reasons for these proposals are the “use of false or fraudulent documents, situations where permits were obtained through misleading statements, as well as cases identifying conduct incompatible with the rules associated with legal stay in national territory”, according to the PSP.
The entity highlights the “reinforcement of detection capability, improvement in verification procedures, and cooperation between the PSP and AIMA” in this summary of work carried out in border control.
