“This is causing harm to all users of our education system, but no one, whether through public consultation, through services, or in any circumstance, will be disadvantaged,” assured the Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre.
Since Tuesday, several websites of the Ministry of Education have faced disruptions, even going offline. This includes the webpage of the Directorate-General for Education, where the public consultation of the National Education for Citizenship Strategy and the Essential Learning of the Citizenship and Development subject has been ongoing since Monday.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with school directors in Lisbon to prepare for the next academic year, Fernando Alexandre confirmed the issues and acknowledged the possibility of extending various deadlines currently underway and affected by these problems.
Apart from the public consultation, disruptions have impacted activities such as class composition, and the Interactive System for Human Resources Management in Education, which allows teachers to apply for positions, was also down during the morning.
According to Fernando Alexandre, the enrollment of students for the 10th and 12th grades, which concluded on Tuesday, was not affected.
