According to the central bank, the increase reflected a rise in long-term debt securities and savings certificates, amounting to approximately 5.7 billion euros and 500 million euros, respectively.
In nominal terms, this is the highest value ever recorded in the BdP series, dating back to 1995.
The BdP indicates that this increase was “partially offset by the decrease in Treasury Certificates,” around 100 million euros.
The central bank also notes that the assets in public administration deposits totaled 39,158 million euros, representing an increase of about 10 billion euros compared to August.
Excluding these deposits, public debt decreased by 4,044 million euros, to 255,161.29 million euros.
