On September 30, 2025, employment in the public administration sector reached 759,402 jobs, marking a 1.8% increase year-on-year and a 0.2% decrease from the previous quarter,” according to the Public Employment Statistical Summary (SIEP) prepared by the Directorate-General for Administration and Public Employment (DGAEP).
This rise compared to the third quarter of 2024 was mainly noted in the central administration (+8,724 jobs) and local administration (+5,077 jobs), with a significant increase in the higher technical career paths, operational assistant, technical assistant, early childhood educators, basic and secondary education teachers, and nurses.
